This series of work is made for the group show ‘You Never Tell’ for Fosun Foundation. It reacts to the stairway space of Fosun Foundation art center in Chengdu. With a limited production time before the opening, I came up with this new and quick, DIY style of making wood puppets. Giving up careful planning, the process of making this work is an experiment of childlike drawing and DIY. My usual way of making puppets always takes weeks, even months. While in this project, I could make my sketches into realization in a shorter time. My ideas of which forms count as a puppet and what materials can I apply to them are broadened.
